GETC– CLOTHING MANUFACTURING PROCESSES (SAQA 50584) NQF LEVEL 1
The GETC: Clothing Manufacturing, addresses the purpose of this qualification to provide this knowledge allows graduates to be highly employable into the garment technology industry, and/or to become leading sustainable entrepreneurs in their community to assist in providing employment opportunities.
Purpose of the programme: This qualification is applicable to people within the clothing sector. Learners will be able to produce garments using lockstitch sewing machine.

- A minimum of two different garments or home textiles using a lockstitch sewing machine and in so doing cut, sew, finish and inspect the completed garments.
This qualification has been developed to allow people within the industry to advance in an area of specialisation or to move into other areas of specialisation in the sector. Grade 11 and 12 is a requirement, or inspiring designers within the industry of Fashion.

Module 4: The need for the learner to complete a minimum of two different garments or home textiles using a lockstitch sewing machine and in so doing cut, sew, finish and inspect the completed garment
Module 5: The need for the learner to determine the appropriate material requirements and in so doing identify a range of suppliers from which to select a buy materials.
Module 6: The need for learners to demonstrate an understanding of the principles of supply and demand, and the concept production.
